Year End Party 2012

OMG! It took me almost a quarter to put up another post for my blog (yikes!) That's how busy I am nowadays specially this quarter of the year. I still have a pending post about my El Nido trip with Eskapaderas but I think that will be posted by next year. (bwahahaha... tamad lang talaga)

Let me start of with our company’s last activity, The Year End Party 2012 in the theme of Modern Victorian Soiree. When I first heard about it, the only thing that I said was “do what now?” Instantly what I worried about was the dress that I needed to wear for the event. (Gosh, san naman ako kukuha nun?)

It is also the company’s culture to come up with presentations per group and to my surprise we got The Phantom of the Opera. I was like “what the hell am I going to do with that”. Honestly, I don’t have any idea about the said play. They asked me to come up with the choreography for the masquerade scene of the play. Apparently, aside from the choreography, I got the lead role – Christine Daae. (Imagine the pressure of teaching my colleagues and worrying about my role. Ay naman!) But as what I always say, I’m not a quitter. I challenged myself even more and putting a lot of pressure on myself too so I could deliver.

The said event was held in Dusit Thani Manila, one of the our clients in the company. Our Department (Quality Assurance) decided to reserve a room so we have a place to fix ourselves before the event and a place to rest after the tiring party.

So now let me share some photos of the said event.

The Boys
There were 3 presentations that night - Supreme Ground Breakers, Up Beat and Support Team.

Supreme Ground Breakers - "ADONIS"
Support Team - "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA"
Up Beat - "MOULIN ROUGE"
We also love taking pics… So more picture more fun. LOL

Now I’m wondering what kind of theme are we going to have by next year… (sana mas relax lang… :P)

Missing my First Love

They say that first love never dies. I guess this also applies to me. Well, don’t think of something else. This has nothing to do with the matters of the heart ('coz that won’t be applicable. Hehehe…) I’m actually talking about dancing.

I may be indulging myself with trekking/ mountaineering and fun runs nowadays but I still want to go back to dancing. Performing on stage through dancing makes me feel that I own the world.

From school performances to barangay dance competitions to parties to company performances to inter-company dance contest - I joined all of them and tried different genres.

Just wanna share with you some videos of my previous dance performances with my beloved friends.

Opening Number in ePLDT Christmas Party 2008 (Silver City)

Ventus All Starz was a dance group formed by different representatives per site of ePLDT Ventus (known as SPI Global now). They were also my first dance group in the company

Aside from the Ventus All Starz that time, I also joined the Jupiter Dance group to compete with other Ventus sites. The group did not consist of dancers. We have representatives from Supervisors, QA and agents. Luckily got the 3rd prize. ^^

My last dance competition in ePLDT Ventus (January 2010)

Hayst... Just so many tiring and fun memories. Hope one day I'll be able to share the same stage again with them... ^^

Ciao!

Staycation ala Amadeo

I missed blogging!... It took me more than a month to create a new entry. Tsk…tsk…

Well, I just wanna share my staycation in one of my friend’s house in Cavite. That was an unplanned trip which made me more excited. Aside from having a short staycation, I got excited since that will be my first time to witness the barrio fiesta ala Amadeo.

July 25th after our shift we went right away to their place. It took us more than 2 hours of travel time.

I promised myself that since this a short staycation, I’ll forget first my diet. Plus the fact that was a barrio fiesta, it means a lot of food will be served. Bwahahaha…

The following day, everyone in the family (except my friend… LOL) was busy preparing the food. They were expecting a lot of visitors. We waited until 3PM for the “Karakol” to start.

TRIVIA:
Karakol – Philippine street dance. It is being held during town and barangay fiestas in Cavite and most rural areas in here in the Philippines. This tradition started back from the Spanish Colonial Period and still being practice up to the present.

Surprisingly, it did not rain on that day. It was a trend that rain will always be part of the celebration that’s why people who would want to participate in karakol would just wear their comfi shorts.

I’m into street dancing but Karakol is a different thing. We had 5 mobiles with big speakers playing non-stop folk songs.
My friend and I had fun dancing and goofing around. Hehehe…
The fun did not stop there. The following day, we decided to wake up before sunrise for an early morning jog. To top it all, I was able to see Balite falls. Yahoo!

The falls is small but it offers visitors a nice area to swim. It looks interesting because of a deep tub or pool that adults could enjoy and a shallow section that can be enjoyed by kids. Locals have put up a few huts around the waterway for visitors who would like to have picnic of sorts.

I will definitely go back to this place…. Hopefully with our other friends (Alpha G and Alpha OT). I love the serenity that I felt during my stay.

Thanks to my dear friend for sharing this experience with me… ^^

The Feast

Today is a very special day for me. I finally attended The Feast! Yehey….

A couple of years ago, a friend of mine discussed to me what The Feast was all about. I kept on saying that I wanted to attend but for some weird reasons I didn’t do anything to make that happen. Maybe I just don’t want it that much that I didn’t even pay attention on how could I possibly put it into reality.

My desire to be part of The Feast died for a couple of years. For me my life was too busy to really go out of my way just to make things happen. Those were also the years that I got LOST in the dark. I forgot about my hunger in spiritual growth.

Bad things happened in my life. Things that I didn’t ask for but I guess it was His way for Him to touch my heart again and be back to my desire… to feed my spiritual hunger.

I see myself now as the character in one of the parables of Jesus – The Prodigal Son.

Bo Sanchez of The Feast

As soon as I enter the PICC, Plenary Hall I was so excited… excited to feel that desire in me again. I guess I made the right choice to start now, because I felt I was blessed. I dance and sing in praises. I prayed from the bottom of my heart. I even saw myself with tears while listening to the talk.

I’m just happy and blessed that I was able to make this happen and I know that this is just the start. I know I’ll be a regular attendee. I know that I have something to look forward to every weekend. Another feast… another moment with God.

The Wise Living

New month
New flat
New housemates
New ME?

I hate clutters in my work station because I will not be able to think clearly and do my job with the mess around… same thing with my locker, closet and my own room. Aside from fixing my own stuff, why not fix my own life. I’ve been through a lot the first quarter of the year because of the break up and the moving on stage. The past couple of months, I was busy traveling and exploring things around me. Now it’s about time to fix myself even more.

I assessed everything that had happened in the past and I realized that there are a lot of things about me that I need to fix. No one could do the fixing for me but only ME so why not start NOW!

1. Learn from the experts.
Me being in love recently with travel and trekking, this is something that I don’t wanna give up yet. However, as a breadwinner it’ll be hard to balance my priorities and simple gifts for myself. Thanks to my friend  Gladys  for sharing a PDF file of The Wise Finance. It’s about time to organize my finances. Since I'm a newbie in organizing my finances, I started by reading some self help books (in PDF form) for finances. This way, I could get good ideas that I can use and apply.

2. Learn to prioritize
Budgeting is not really my cup of tea since I always have Nanay to do the budgeting for me since I was a kid. Now, that I'm living on my own, I could no longer ask Nanay to do the nitty-gritty for me. I searched for a google docs spreadsheet and created my own version of personal budget. My aim to save more. In all fairness, I'm having fun doing the budgeting for personal expenses and seeing the projected amount of money that I could save. I'll be using the Envelope System in that way I could categorize my money by separating my groceries, allowance, bills, savings and emergency funds.

3. Learn to love yourself.
There's a saying that for you to be able to give love to others, you have to learn to love yourself first. With what I've been through, I owe myself more time to be back on track. I was really harsh on myself. I lost the Me in me. I started with me being back into physical activities. I'm into running and trekking recently so I really have to give time for these. Being back to the sweaty activities, I feel livelier. I also lost some pounds and was able to wear my old clothes. Feeling healthier than ever, I can now spend more time with my love ones. Learn to take care and love yourself so you'll be ready to take care and love the people who mean so much to you.

4. Smile and Laugh more.
Laughter is the best medicine. This is really true. Thanks to my daily dose of laughter from Alpha Gagerls (my friends in the office). Laughing improves our physical health. Laughing out loud is actually equivalent to 3 minutes of jogging in place. Laughing uses approximately 80 different muscles in our whole body. The vibration creates a faster heartbeat, increasing blood pressure, in turn improving the oxygen level in our blood which lowers stress and helps our bodies boost its immune system. Laughing helps to bind people together and increases intimacy and happiness. So start your day with smile as this will also help us look younger.

5. Strengthen your Faith.
I got lost in the dark several times and my faith with Him was placed into test. Now is the perfect time to be back to His arms. I make it a point that I read the Bible before I sleep. I'm also planning to pursue my plans of attending The Feast. This is a working progress... I'm a working progress. I need to be patient with myself.
“Ignorance of scripture is ignorance of Christ” - Jerome

This is just the start of a new chapter in my life. Hoping for a BETTER VERSION OF ME in the coming days. Hoping for a more POSITIVE me. ^^

Men in Black 3

Finally, I had the chance to visit the movie house again. ^^ (What a good way to treat myself after a tiring day full of mixed emotions). I had the chance to watch MIB 3 and had fun watching this film.

Just wanna share some info about this movie.

MOVIE INFO:

In Men in Black 3, Agents J (Will Smith) and K (Tommy Lee Jones) are back...in time. J has seen some inexplicable things in his 15 years with the Men in Black, but nothing, not even aliens, perplexes him as much as his wry, reticent partner. But when K's life and the fate of the planet are put at stake, Agent J will have to travel back in time to put things right. J discovers that there are secrets to the universe that K never told him -- secrets that will reveal themselves as he teams up with the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) to save his partner, the agency, and the future of humankind. -- (C) Sony (Source: rottentomatoes.com)

Favorite Lines:

Griffin: A miracle is something that seems impossible but happens anyway

Agent K: There are things out there you don't need to know about.

Agent K: Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to.

Griffin: The bitterest truth is better than the sweetest lie.

Precious Gift

It’s been a year since I left my INF family. My 1 year of stay was really worth it. I was molded into the person that I am today with the help of my new found friends in the company. Though it was short, I had a lot of fun with them.

I browsed through my files earlier and happen to see a friend’s gift before I left. I watched it again and until now it never failed to put tears in my eyes. I just felt that I am really special somehow. Thanks to you mah friend!

I MISS YOU!

Nagsasa Cove via Mt. Nagsasa (Day 2 - May 27, 2012)

Previous Post: Nagsasa Cove via Mt. Nagsasa (Day 1 - May 26, 2012)

I really had a very good sleep. I was really recharged when I woke up the following day so why not start the day  with an early photo shoot. Ay naman! hehehe...

After a very quick breakfast, we started to fix our things so we could leave the place and transfer to Camara Island.  We didn’t leave the place just like that. Of course photo op was next on our list.

We had our last glance of the place. A lot of fun memories...

It took us 45 minutes to transfer to Camara Island. The sceneries were great. The only irritating part was the noisy boat machine that disabled our hearing organ for a short while (hahaha…) but other than that, the boating experience was fun. Photo op was still part of the ride. ^^

Talking about the scenery... Check this out:

I really this shot, in fairness may silbi ang kunyari kong camera

I really love the cloud formation

Credits to Pats (astig ng shot na toh)

When we reached Camara Island it was so freakin' HOT that I failed to take my own picture of the great scenery from the shore. We went to Kuya Joey's house so we could have a decent shower and lunch. That was also the best part of the trip, to get to know the people around you. We goofed around and had our chit chat session.

Souvenir pic sa totoong camera ni Pats
Before ending our trip, we passed by Coffee Shop's Rooftop Hotel. We wanna try their big tacos. (Umay to the nth level lang ito. hahaha...)

12 PEOPLE... ONE GOAL... TO HAVE FUN! The trip and all the challenging part of the trekking was all worth it. It will not be as fun as exciting as it was if not with the people I'm with in those 2 nights and 2 days that we were together. I know that was not the first and the last for the group... that was just the start. Until next time Nagsasa Peeps ^^
