Goals for 2013

I still cannot believe that it is already 2013. Time flies so fast. ^^ So let me share with you my plans for this year.

SAVE. I’m planning to save more this year and to also get another mean to earn money. The more money that I could save, the lesser the time that I need to wait to have the renovation of my new house. (I CAN DO THIS!)

HEALTHY LIVING. I want to be able to run 21K starting this year (to be more fit and to get medals. HAHAHA!). To be able to achieve the 21K, I’m planning to run at least 3x a week. I will also continue my “no rice” diet except on my “cheat days” (CHEAT DAY is a must kaya walang basagan ng trip. ^^)

CLIMBS. I had several minor climbs last year. Hopefully I will be able to conquer major climbs this year. Mt. Pulag is one on my list. Hope to save for my mountaineering gears too.

DESTINATIONS. I still wanna explore our country. My friends and I will be invading Mindanao soon (egzoited na ako!). I also would like to have an out of town vacation with my family this year. (sana matupad ko since ako lang solong financer for sure.) Out of the country trips are also on my list (dapat matatakan ang passport ko bago mag-expire)

PERSONAL. I started last year with “don’t dwell much on things” and now “more positive more fun” ang peg ko this year. I just wanna make this a lighter year for me pa ra naman di ako haggard looking. Who knows, I will finally meet “him” this year.

CHARITY. Hope I will be able to do more charity works this year. Sharing is not only about the moolah that you could give but also the time and love that you could share to others.

My 2012

Year 2012 gave me a roller coaster ride. This year also has full of surprises that made me the person I am today.

Just wanna share with you how I survived this year that started with a not so good memory but ended up feeling blessed by the end of the year.

JANUARY. This is my birthday month. Initially thinking that my birthday celebration will give me a blast but it turned out to be a disaster when my Ex and I broke up. I decided not to celebrate at all but my friends were very kind enough to make me feel that I am loved by a lot of people. Thank God I have a strong support group that helped me get through this stage.

Instead of dwelling on what happened to my failed relationship, I thought of diverting my negative feelings into something positive and self-fulfilling.

Me with Gladys and Kate in Real Life Foundation
(Grace to the Finish) My first Fun Run with my friends

FEBRUARY. With what I’ve been through for the first month of the year, I thought of giving myself a break. 2 minor climbs for this month. (and gala ko lang. HAHAHA!)

Pinatubo Trekking with Eskapaderas
Gulugod Baboy with my friends from the south

MARCH. My much awaited Run United Fun Run happened this month. I started with a 5K run

Run United 1
I also got an invitation from my elementary teacher. He invited me to the Recognition Day and asked me to do a speech for the students. (ang serious lang ng peg ko dito. HEHEHE...)

With some of the faculty members of LTES

APRIL. Aside from Run United, I also joined Earth Run 2012 that was held in BGC. That was my first 10K run (ang lakas lang talaga ng loob ko). I was with my brother and a couple of friends in DCMi.

I also joined another minor climb. I was with my Housies (Makati Housemates), Eskapaderas (DCMi friends) and Juxtapoz PUP. We conquered Pico de Loro.

An angel also came this month. Kendra Thea Martin – Garcia was born last April 27.

My Beloved Niece

MAY. Another minor climb happened this month. That time I was with my bestfriend and her friends. Time to catch up and the best way to do it was - Mountaineering in Nagsasa Cove.

I also got the chance to see my High School friends. Define reminiscin' ^^

Rhoda, Me, Sheena, Jay and Rhomil

JUNE. This month was a  FOOD TRIP month. Since I started with my “no rice” diet I seldom eat out but when my craving strikes, cheat day comes.

The 2nd installment of Run United 2 happened on this month. Had my first 10K run in the Run United series

Me with Bonna and Kiko

JULY. As I was fulfilling my personal desires, I also finally decided to feed my soul. At long last, I attended The Feast – the happiest place on earth. I became a regular attendee since then.

Bro. Bo Sanchez
A friend (Cleah) also invited me to their “Pistang-bayan”. Experienced Karakol (Philippine street dance. It is being held during town and barangay fiestas in Cavite and most rural areas in here in the Philippines. This tradition started back from the Spanish Colonial Period and still being practice up to the present.)

I got the chance to join the Milo Metro Manila Eliminations. My first ever run with a congested track (hayst... It looks like more of an ALAY-LAKAD than a fun run)

Me with Jules and Rose (sorry it's blurry. blame my phone. HAHAHA)

AUGUST. Eskapaderas invaded Palawan. We visited The Underground River and did island hopping in El Nido. (I just wanna go back there… as in now na… as I write this portion) Hope to see this place again. My post regarding my vacation in Palawan is still pending. HAHAHA...Check this out in the next coming weeks. :D

SEPTEMBER. The 3rd installment of Run United 2012 happened this month. Ang kapal na naman ng mukha ko to do a 10K run.

Ang labo na naman. Blame it sa kumuha ng picture ko. BWAHAHA

OCTOBER. Had my longest vacation ever (11 days out of the office. Yahoo!) But before I got my long VL, our company had the Family Day. QA, HST and L&D teamed up for the bay decoration. (BTW, got the First Place ^_^)

Ang mga feeling bata

I was so surprised when the last series of Run United 2012 happened after a month. The Run United Philippine Marathon happened while I was on leave. Buti na lang nakaabot ako sa registration :D

kami-kami pa rin.. HAHAHA

NOVEMBER. I was so stressed this month. Had to extend after my shift for the rehearsals. In the middle of super aligaga moment (because of the rehearsals of the Phantom of the Opera) I decided to visit my friends in INF. Lahat lang ng kwentuhan ay summarized. HAHAHA…

Me with Jhoera and Julius. Gusto ko lang ang peg ng kulot kong buhok :D

DECEMBER. Finally the wait is over. Aside from the 13th month pay, I was also waiting for the Year End Party 2012 to be over. (Gusto ko ng matapos ang stress ko. HAHAHA!) Though we did not get the grand prize, we enjoyed the night with our Modern Victorian Soiree theme.

Welcome to the Christian world Kendra Thea! Kendra’s dedication happened this month too. Ang laki na ng pamangkin ko….

Me with my inaanak CJ and Pammy with Kendra

Now looking back to year 2012, I realized that I’m still lucky. I lost someone in my life but I gained a lot. I gained my self-respect, met new friends, got into a lot of places and still getting the opportunity to do what I love to do. I started the year with tears in my eyes but ended up with a full smile on my face. I am the person that I am today with what I’ve gone through in the past – STRONGER AND BOLDER :D

I also wanna thank God for guiding me and for giving me the life that I have right now. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!

Year End Party 2012

OMG! It took me almost a quarter to put up another post for my blog (yikes!) That's how busy I am nowadays specially this quarter of the year. I still have a pending post about my El Nido trip with Eskapaderas but I think that will be posted by next year. (bwahahaha... tamad lang talaga)

Let me start of with our company’s last activity, The Year End Party 2012 in the theme of Modern Victorian Soiree. When I first heard about it, the only thing that I said was “do what now?” Instantly what I worried about was the dress that I needed to wear for the event. (Gosh, san naman ako kukuha nun?)

It is also the company’s culture to come up with presentations per group and to my surprise we got The Phantom of the Opera. I was like “what the hell am I going to do with that”. Honestly, I don’t have any idea about the said play. They asked me to come up with the choreography for the masquerade scene of the play. Apparently, aside from the choreography, I got the lead role – Christine Daae. (Imagine the pressure of teaching my colleagues and worrying about my role. Ay naman!) But as what I always say, I’m not a quitter. I challenged myself even more and putting a lot of pressure on myself too so I could deliver.

The said event was held in Dusit Thani Manila, one of the our clients in the company. Our Department (Quality Assurance) decided to reserve a room so we have a place to fix ourselves before the event and a place to rest after the tiring party.

So now let me share some photos of the said event.

The Boys
There were 3 presentations that night - Supreme Ground Breakers, Up Beat and Support Team.

Supreme Ground Breakers - "ADONIS"
Support Team - "THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA"
Up Beat - "MOULIN ROUGE"
We also love taking pics… So more picture more fun. LOL

Now I’m wondering what kind of theme are we going to have by next year… (sana mas relax lang… :P)

Missing my First Love

They say that first love never dies. I guess this also applies to me. Well, don’t think of something else. This has nothing to do with the matters of the heart ('coz that won’t be applicable. Hehehe…) I’m actually talking about dancing.

I may be indulging myself with trekking/ mountaineering and fun runs nowadays but I still want to go back to dancing. Performing on stage through dancing makes me feel that I own the world.

From school performances to barangay dance competitions to parties to company performances to inter-company dance contest - I joined all of them and tried different genres.

Just wanna share with you some videos of my previous dance performances with my beloved friends.

Ventus All Starz' Opening Performance in (Carlos P. Romulo Auditorium, RCBC Plaza)

Ventus All Starz' version of Igiling-Giling

Opening Number in ePLDT Christmas Party 2008 (Silver City)

Ventus All Starz was a dance group formed by different representatives per site of ePLDT Ventus (known as SPI Global now). They were also my first dance group in the company

Jupiter's Rendition of OPM Rock (ePLDT Christmas Party 2008)

Edited Video of Our Special Number in PLDT Idols

Aside from the Ventus All Starz that time, I also joined the Jupiter Dance group to compete with other Ventus sites. The group did not consist of dancers. We have representatives from Supervisors, QA and agents. Luckily got the 3rd prize. ^^

My last dance competition in ePLDT Ventus (January 2010)

Hayst... Just so many tiring and fun memories. Hope one day I'll be able to share the same stage again with them... ^^

Ciao!

Staycation ala Amadeo

I missed blogging!... It took me more than a month to create a new entry. Tsk…tsk…

Well, I just wanna share my staycation in one of my friend’s house in Cavite. That was an unplanned trip which made me more excited. Aside from having a short staycation, I got excited since that will be my first time to witness the barrio fiesta ala Amadeo.

July 25th after our shift we went right away to their place. It took us more than 2 hours of travel time.

I promised myself that since this a short staycation, I’ll forget first my diet. Plus the fact that was a barrio fiesta, it means a lot of food will be served. Bwahahaha…

The following day, everyone in the family (except my friend… LOL) was busy preparing the food. They were expecting a lot of visitors. We waited until 3PM for the “Karakol” to start.

TRIVIA:
Karakol – Philippine street dance. It is being held during town and barangay fiestas in Cavite and most rural areas in here in the Philippines. This tradition started back from the Spanish Colonial Period and still being practice up to the present.

Surprisingly, it did not rain on that day. It was a trend that rain will always be part of the celebration that’s why people who would want to participate in karakol would just wear their comfi shorts.

I’m into street dancing but Karakol is a different thing. We had 5 mobiles with big speakers playing non-stop folk songs.
My friend and I had fun dancing and goofing around. Hehehe…
The fun did not stop there. The following day, we decided to wake up before sunrise for an early morning jog. To top it all, I was able to see Balite falls. Yahoo!

The falls is small but it offers visitors a nice area to swim. It looks interesting because of a deep tub or pool that adults could enjoy and a shallow section that can be enjoyed by kids. Locals have put up a few huts around the waterway for visitors who would like to have picnic of sorts.

I will definitely go back to this place…. Hopefully with our other friends (Alpha G and Alpha OT). I love the serenity that I felt during my stay.

Thanks to my dear friend for sharing this experience with me… ^^
